I found something online that said elder trees were unremarkable. This has roused my ire. Elder trees are remarkable pretty much all the time. They have tightly folded pale green buds that look like close-ups of structures that biochemists might be studying, and they are ablaze with fragrant flowers for weeks in spring, and then when the berries are growing they have red stems and tiny green spheres, and then you get the berries.
Good to see an elder stateswoman at work. I think they're remarkable too.
